Fab Food Friday- Super Salmon!
Salmon is one powerful fish, packing a plethora of health benefits into one serving. An amazing high-quality protein, it is low in carbohydrates and covers 41-50% of the 46- 56 grams of protein one needs a day. Widely known, Salmon is a great source of Omega- 3 fatty acids, which help to lower triglycerides preventing high cholesterol and blood pressure. But it’s secret weapon is the immense source of B vitamins it provides; B1 or niacin which aids in nerve function, B6 that helps the body better absorb the protein in your diet (keeping you satisfied longer), and B12 key in healthy brain function. Some studies have even shown Salmon to decrease hostility.
